A Gift That Lasts

An individual gift to the NOVA Foundation Scholarship is just the beginning. There are countless ways for you to make a difference in the lives of NOVA students, faculty, and staff. Options to donate include gifts to our general fund and our Student Emergency Aid fund. Donations for student scholarships can be made to an existing scholarship, or you can create an annual named or a perpetual endowed scholarship.

Over the decades of our existence, the NOVA foundation has formed invaluable partnerships with businesses throughout Northern Virginia and the metro DC area. Through these relationships, we’re able to strengthen NOVA overall, the local job market, and the region as a whole.

Partnering with NOVA is a wise investment in the future—and a smart choice for your corporation. We strive to engage businesses and develop partnerships in ways that will benefit both the College and your business. Companies may offer scholarship or other student support, endow professorships, support faculty development, name spaces on campus, empower academic or workforce programs, build important recruiting relationships. or make in-kind donations. Working with NOVA can advance your corporation’s strategic positioning, mission, and goals. It can also lay the foundation for future business owners.

NOVA and the NOVA Foundation welcome support from community, private (including family), and company foundations that share our mission and passion for supporting those less fortunate. While post-secondary education is our primary focus, opportunities abound for your foundation to support NOVA via our campus food pantries, investments in student computer equipment, faculty grants, research support, and program development in workforce preparation. Help us continue meeting NOVA’s mission in conjunction with yours.

NOVA employees can also contribute to the Foundation's charitable work through payroll deductions. Available as one-time and continuous donations, payroll deductions can be applied to the Annual Fund or to a specific scholarship or campus project.

Payroll Deductions are one of the easiest ways you can give back to the community by creating new opportunities for NOVA students, faculty, and staff.

Companies of all sizes match donations their employees make to nonprofits because it’s an easy, structured way for them to support good work in their communities. A company’s Corporate Social Responsibility program (CSR) is an important way to attract and retain employees while elevating their reputation in their communities. 

We encourage all donors to check with their employers to see if the company will match their donations. While many companies match at a 1:1 ratio, some match charitable contributions at 2:1 or more. Check with your employer and then contact us at foundation@nvcc.edu or 703-323-3023 to learn more.
