Mission & Vision
NOVA Foundation: Enabling and connecting donors to accelerate NOVA student success
Founded in 1979, the NOVA Educational Foundation is dedicated to supporting Northern Virginia Community College’s goal of providing all students with a high-quality, life-changing education. By connecting donors to NOVA programs, the Foundation raises funds, increases visibility and strengthens partnerships among the College, individual donors, businesses and state and local communities. The Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, governed by a Board of Directors. At NOVA, every student succeeds, every program achieves, and every community prospers. Make a gift. Make a difference.
Our board is composed of dedicated individuals from the NOVA region who believe and are willing advocates for the College and its students. Responsibilities of the Board include strategic planning, advocacy and fundraising. Funds raised by the Foundation provide much-needed support for scholarships, faculty development and academic program resources.
NOVA isn’t your typical community college. With a student population of 75,000+ and representation from 150+ foreign countries, NOVA offers a meaningful college experience for much less than the cost of a four-year school.
Our six campuses are inclusive, and each one promotes a vigorous, respectful exchange of ideas. All facilities are state-of-the-art so our graduates are ready to become innovators as they enter the job market, regardless of their chosen field.
In addition to our traditional 'brick and mortar' campuses, NOVA Online gives students the flexibility to fit education into their busy lifestyle from anywhere in the world. We offer online courses in a variety of disciplines. The structure of the courses is similar to traditional classroom instruction and assignments; there is even an online Student Center and help available from online librarians.
